Before we get too far into this, let me make it clear that this recipe is in no way sponsored or endorsed by Rumchata, I just really, really like the stuff – like a lot. So I am basically finding a way to put it in ALL THE THINGS!!!
After I made these spiked tiramisu pudding cups, I tried them with vanilla pudding instead, and used Rumchata and Fireball and they tasted exactly like a cinnamon roll, no joke! Seriously, so good.
Then I had the brilliant idea of adding Rumchata to my already amazing banana pudding recipe to make a boozy banana pudding!! Oh my goodness, I literally died and went to heaven.
If you have never had banana pudding, it’s kind of like a trifle – or a dessert lasagna, if you will. Just imagine layers of banana pudding, Nilla Wafer cookies and fresh bananas that together make one delectable dessert – now add Rumchata to that and you can see why I am so excited about this culinary concoction I came up with!!!
Here’s what you need:
Small box of instant banana pudding
1 cup milk
1 cup Rumchata
1 tub Cool Whip
Whisk milk, Rumchata and pudding mix together. Then whisk in Cool Whip, a little at a time, until combined.
In a baking dish, cover the bottom with a thin layer of pudding, then completely cover with a layer of Nilla wafers…
Followed by a layer of sliced bananas…
Then top with a layer of pudding and repeat the layers, ending with a layer of pudding.
Garnish with some crushed Nilla wafers and refrigerate for a few hours before serving.
